This simple pencil sketch and watercolour wash is of one of the many scallop shells I have in the corner of my patio! Often, when returning from a deep wreck dive we might plop into a shallower drift dive off Portland, in Weymouth Bay, to collect some scales for tea. On returning home I then clean out the scallops and discard the shells. They are good to serve scallops in at the table as well as being used as ash trays. But as a non-smoker, I wouldn't know about that.
